You don’t have to resign yourself to putting on an extra few pounds over the Christmas period. And that doesn’t mean missing out on those big festive meals, but simply following a few tips to help keep your figure in line. For example, try eating fruit for breakfast: not only is it lighter and lower in calories, it will also improve your intestinal digestion. Keep up the exercise, even on special days, and don’t drink too much alcohol, which is extremely fattening. Cut down on the bread, don’t snack between meals and try to restrict big meals to special days: don’t even think about rummaging around in the kitchen for nougat or marzipan for breakfast—keep them for special occasions! For the fortnight after the festive blowout, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.
