CSR Initiatives

CSR Activity 2021-22

During the year 2021-2022, Borges India has carried out several CSR Activities in the areas of Hunger eradication, poverty, and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health care, sanitation, and socio-economic development of the territory.

Activity 1: Mid Day Meals – Akshay Patra Foundation

The objective of the project is to provide wholesome freshly cooked lunch served to children in government and government-aided schools in India. The project is spread into 13 states & 1 Union territories including Delhi.

What need does it respond to according to?

  • Eradicating hunger, poverty, and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health care and sanitation.

Who is the target benefited from the contribution?

  • 1.8 million school children in 19,039 Government schools and Government-aided schools

Activity 2: Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF)

The objective of the project is the immediate relief to families, victims of natural calamities like floods, cyclones and earthquakes, major accidents, and riots etc., for medical treatment like heart surgeries, kidney transplantation, cancer treatment and acid attack etc. This is a National Fund for the welfare of the people in all states in India.

What need does it respond to?

  • Socio-economic development of the territory.

Who is the target benefited from the contribution?

  • Victims of natural calamities like flood, earthquake, etc., Poor people who need medical aid. Direct Financial assistance have been provided to families of more than 1.500 people who have died/suffered injuries in Natural calamities.

CSR Activity 2020-2021

During the year 2020-2021, Borges India has carried out several CSR Activities in the areas of health care, sanitation, support for minorities, promotion of education and socio-economic development of the territory.

Activity 1: Muskaan

One of the projects we have worked on is the construction of a residential accommodation for Senior adults with intellectual disabilities at Vasant Kunj that is managed by the NGO Muskaan. The building will house 17 residents, who in addition to having their residential needs guaranteed, will be able to access other assistance services for themselves and their families.

What need does it respond to?

  • Promoting education, including special education and employment enhancing vocation skills and promoting health care including preventive health care and

Who is the target benefited from the contribution?

  • It will house 20 men and women residents along with other facilities. The plan is to run a respite care as well as training center for independent living for all students of Muskaan numbering 180 +. This facility is being started because of families’ need in case of medical or other emergencies at different stages of life.

Activity 2: PM Cares Fund

The objective of the project is to support relief or assistance relating to a public health emergency (especially Covid 19) or any other kind of emergency, calamity, or distress, including the creation or upgradation of healthcare or pharmaceutical facilities, other necessary infrastructure, funding relevant research or any other type of support.

What need does it respond to?

  • Health care promotion.

Who is the target benefited from the contribution?

  • Victims of natural calamities like flood, earthquake, etc. We contribute to gifted 50,000 ventilators to Government Hospitals, Established Two 500 bedded makeshift Covid Hospitals, Installation and operationalizing of 162 Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) Oxygen Generating Plants, Procurement of 6.6 cr. doses of Covid 19 vaccines, Funding of 2 Autonomous Institute Laboratories as Central Drug Laboratory for test and release of Covid 19 vaccines.
