If you’re planning on making a pasta salad, you need to cook the pasta at least an hour in advance and then strain it, add a dash of olive oil to loosen it up and then leave it to cool. However, we don’t always have time on our hands and we might need a faster solution. If that’s the case, and bearing in mind that the pasta will lose some flavour, you can cool it down quickly in a bowl of water and ice cubes.
