You can add all kinds of tasty extras to the cake mixture: fruit, nuts or aromas (a few drops of anisette, brandy or vanilla essence or a pinch of cinnamon). Or you can turn it into a full-on dessert by adding some vanilla or cinnamon ice cream, chocolate sauce, whipped cream… It’s a very versatile base to work with!
