Some people have big dinners, while others dine lightly, depending on habit and need. And then there are people who like nothing better than drinking a glass of milk before bed, no matter how much, or how little, they’ve had for dinner. Well, how about trying a plant-based drink instead? Almond, hazelnut, walnut…
There are plenty of good reasons to switch. For vegans, it’s the only way to go, since plant-based drinks are animal free; ecologists are convinced that the planet cannot support the livestock industry in its present form; and for lactose-intolerant people, plant-based drinks are manna from heaven in a range of highly nutritious flavours.
Plant-based drinks are packed with goodness: almond drink is rich in monounsaturated fatty acids, which help weightwatchers and keep bad cholesterol at bay; and walnut drink boasts not only plant proteins but also all the natural nutritional benefits of walnuts (one glass contains five whole walnuts), including high levels of omega-3 (good for your heart) and hardly any saturated fats (good news for fighting cholesterol) or sodium (good news for your blood pressure).
So there you are: a healthy glass before bed for a good night’s sleep. Zzzzzzz…
