TIP: Long live to pasta and nuts!

26 November 2014

If you want to keep nuts in optimum condition for longer, glass, metal or plastic containers are suitable to maintain its freshness and healthy properties, provided they are closed tightly and stored in a cool, dry, shady place.

In case you forget to do so, a good way to ‘revitalize’ peeled almonds or hazelnuts (without seasonings like salt or spices) is letting them overnight in a glass of cold water, thus promoting its rehydration. Next day they will be tender and crispy!

Like nuts, dried pasta has a long life. To take full advantage of it, make sure that containers are tightly closed after opening (if not, keep pasta in a glass container with hermetic seal) and stored in a cool, dry place without direct light (such as a closet, for example).
