Let’s be honest. We spend all year longing for the hot summer months, dreaming of holidays, unwinding and beaches, only to find that when the summer is finally here, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. The high temperatures make for extreme conditions, and we need to keep our wits about us, including what we eat.
For example, we definitely need to drink more water and fruit juice to keep us properly hydrated. Remember, you only start to feel thirsty once your body has started to dehydrate, so keep drinking water regularly even if you don’t feel thirsty.
On a day-to-day basis, eat light meals, with plenty of salads, fruit and vegetables, and forget about big, hot meals. Avoid fatty recipes and alcoholic drinks. Keep yourself hydrated and enjoy the summer!
