Tip for avoiding the smell of fried fish

3 June 2015

You love fish but hate the smell of it on your hands after handling it… Well, simply rub your hands with some vinegar, lemon juice or white wine and then rinse them with plenty of cold water.

So that’s that sorted… but what about the smell that fills your kitchen when you fry fish? Put a slice of lemon or orange peel, or some parsley leaves, or some breadcrumbs or half a clove of garlic into the boiling oil before you fry the fish.

If this tip doesn’t work with some fishes like sardines, which have a very strong smell, dip them in milk with a pinch of salt before frying or soak them in milk for half an hour beforehand. You’ll be delighted with the result.
