One of the most served (and eaten) fruits during Christmas, loved and feared at the same time… as we are always afraid to cut ourselves or cut it wrong! This year, have courage and show your strength and ‘savoir faire’ when you prepare it.
First: choose an appropriate pineapple. How do you know which one? Strip off one of its leafs before buying it. If it comes out easily, it is ripe and you can take it home.
Second: once at home, take a well sharpened knife, and cut both ends of the pineapple so it can stand to upright position. Finally: take off its skin from top to bottom. Redo the process until it is spotless. When finished, lay it down and slice it into pieces. This will ensure that they can take another piece… which they will!
