Put the vegan drink and a pinch of salt in a mixer jug. Beat while slowing adding the olive oil until the mixture thickens. Add the drops of lemon juice and put by.
Cut the cod into strips. Beat the egg, mix in the beer and add the flour until you get a smooth batter that will stick to the cod.
Coat the cod in the batter, pick up with a fork, letting any excess batter drip off, and fry in plenty of hot olive oil until golden brown. Place on kitchen roll to soak up any excess oil.
Serve with the vegan mayonnaise.
