Balsamic vinegar, a vital ingredient

13 April 2021

Delicate, silky, intense, aromatic… Balsamic vinegar is all this and much more besides. No kitchen cupboard should be without this vital ingredient that you can use in a multitude of recipes. Here are some ideas to get you going.

In vinaigrettes
With extra-virgin olive oil, honey, mustard, the juice of a citrus fruit or your favourite herbs and spices, balsamic vinegar can become the king of your salads! It goes well with pasta, rice, mixed leaves, vegetables, quinoa, couscous… Almost everything, in fact!

With meat
The finishing touch for any good barbecue with friends has to be a delicious sauce made with Modena balsamic vinegar and a selection of herbs and spices.

With vegetables
Do you ever get the feeling that steamed vegetables all taste the same? Try adding some new sauces, herbs and spices and they’ll soon take on a new lease of life. Sprinkle some cumin on your broccoli, some herbs de Provence on your green beans and some turmeric and curry powder on your pulses and vegetables, topped off with a drizzling of Modena balsamic vinegar for a final tasty twist.
