The Perfect Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 250 ml Borges Sunflower and Extra Virgin olive oil
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 large eggs
  • 100 ml whole milk

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    In a large bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic, salt and pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs with the milk.

  2. Step 2

    Dry the chicken with paper towels. Coat each piece in the egg mixture and then dredge in the flour. For extra crunch, repeat this process a second time.

  3. Step 3

    Heat the olive oil in a deep frying pan, saucepan or deep fryer over medium heat until it reaches 175 ºC. Carefully place the chicken pieces into the hot oil, ensuring they are completely submerged.

  4. Step 4

    Fry the chicken for 10-12 minutes until golden. Remove and set on a wire rack or paper towels.

  5. Step 5

    Serve with a variety of sauces, a green salad, or French fries.
