Why should you include olive oil in your daily diet?

19 February 2019

There’s no end of reasons… First, because it’s delicious! And so versatile that you can add it to simply any dish: from drizzling it onto your sandwiches to making tasty dressings for your salads, using it for frying, sautéing and even in smoothies (don’t say you still haven’t tried an olive-oil smoothie?) You can use it in your homemade cakes, to make Béchamel sauce and to come up with your own original recipes built around this cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet, a real delight for your health and taste buds.

Another great reason for including olive oil in your daily diet is the fact that it is packed with goodness for your cardiovascular health. Its unsaturated fatty acids help reduce levels of LDL cholesterol (often referred to as “bad” cholesterol) and boost levels of HDL cholesterol (“good” cholesterol), which helps widen blood vessels and increase blood flow. If you also include fruit and vegetables in your diet and do regular physical exercise, your health and heart will be more than grateful!
