Traditional apple cake


  • 300 g cake flour
  • 10 g baking powder
  • A few drops of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 200 g sugar
  • 150 ml unsweetened yogurt
  • A splash of Borges apple balsamic vinegar
  • 140 ml Borges extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 apples

Step by step

  1. Step 1

    Mix the flour, baking powder, vanilla extract and cinnamon in a bowl. 

  2. Step 2

    Break the eggs into a large bowl and beat them gently. Mix in the other ingredients one by one: the sugar, the yogurt, the Borges apple balsamic vinegar, half of the flour mixture and half of the extra-virgin olive oil. Gradually continue adding the other half of the flour and oil. It should form a dense batter.

  3. Step 3

    Add the apples. Stir with a wooden spoon and pour the mixture into a greased cake pan.

  4. Step 4

    Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 180 ºC, for about 40 minutes.
